Blackthorne Morgan Farm is
the small farm of the Ladd
family in Hanover, Massachusetts.
About Us
We are located in Plymouth County about 30 miles
south of Boston. Hanover is pretty much a bedroom
community with several horse farms, adding to the
character of the town.
We have been involved in horses since around 1993, starting with one beautiful Morgan Mare named LP Memory. Over time, we added a couple of Quarter horses and the family showed locally and enjoyed trail riding in the local woods and parks.
In 1999, we had the
opportunity to buy Frederique a
one year old stallion by the
famous Forevermore and to
place him in training with one of
the best trainers in the
business,Ann Anderson of
Hobby Knoll Stables.
In 2004, we decided to focus on breeding
Morgans and sent our Quarter Horses
off to retirement in the Shenandoah Valley
of Virginia. Unfortunately, the week before
they left, our beloved Memory died at
the age of 29 years old.
This web site is all about our Morgans and what we love about Morgans. In the pages of this site you will see our stallion Frederique, who we also stand for select outside breeding, our mare Rum Brook Immortal Cachet and our babies who are always for sale.
You will also be able to see the talented artwork of our oldest daughter Rebecca. Some of this artwork is for sale, or you may wish to commission a work of your own. Enjoy.
